Chris Pople is a professional financial investor whose commercial interests lie in managing a private investment office based in Bristol, dealing primarily with overseas financial markets.
Chris was born into a family with long established roots in the Bristol business community. He was both schooled and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Bristol before working for Beazer plc on its overseas acquisition programme, principally in the USA.
In the early 1990’s Chris left the traditional career path to plough his own furrow in the world of private equity investment. Over time his primary focus shifted from private investments to actively trading on publicly listed bourses.
Chris has a strong interest in supporting groups in society with the greatest needs – in particular the young and the old. He has served as a trustee of The Redmaids’ School & Clifton College, Quartet Community Foundation and as a member of the Downs Committee.
As well as having an active interest in Bristol Zoo, support has been provided to the Lord Mayor’s office through The Guild of Guardians. His current interests focus on management of endowments on behalf of organisations involved with care for the elderly, supporting Bristol Grammar with their bursary programme and involvement in a number of smaller local charities and sporting bodies.
Chris has been married to Jo since his early twenties and they have four children, three children-in-law and four grandchildren.
