David Clymo

David Clymo lived and worked internationally for more than 30 years before retiring in 2021. Having graduated with a degree in chemical engineering he worked offshore on the North Sea oil rigs before requalifying as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse, subsequently moving to Hong Kong with the firm. He then moved to industry with the Jardine Matheson Group where he held both finance and general management roles across South East Asia. He later joined the Schindler Group in Switzerland becoming Deputy Chief Executive and CHRO, positions he held until his retirement. In this role he also oversaw the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

David went to school in Bristol and returned to live in the city after retirement where he has since become involved in a number of charities and social enterprises. He spent three years as an adviser to the Great Western Credit Union and is a trustee of The Grateful Society, which is focused on improving the wellbeing and independence of older people. David is also a trustee of Youth Moves, which opened the 224 Youth Zone in South Bristol in 2026, delivering aspirational youth provision.

David is married to Jo and they have four adult children.
