David Medlock DL

David Medlock was born and educated in Bath, studied at Salford University and qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in 1977. He joined Sitec Group Ltd, the family engineering company, in 1979 and led it until its sale in 2019. He still runs Project Finance Ltd and Anglo Welsh Canal boat holidays.

His community and charitable interests include managing the Medlock Charitable Trust and the Coles-Medlock Foundation, both grant-making trusts with a particular focus on social deprivation and educational organisations. He has previously been a governor at King Edward’s School in Bath and Collegiate School in Bristol. He is a past trustee of St. Monica’s Trust and of numerous other voluntary organisations since 1981.

For 14 years David served on the Council of the University of Bath, with 11 as Pro Chancellor. He was High Sheriff of Somerset in 2007 and was Vice Lord Lieutenant of Somerset for six years. An active Somerset Mason for 40 years, he has now joined the leadership group of United Grand Lodge of England. David has been awarded an honorary degree from both the University of Bath and the University of Salford.

David is married with three children and three grandchildren.
