Lee Gardhouse

Lee founded his own wealth management business, Moai Wealth, in 2023 and is the company’s Chief Investment Officer. The business exists to support families through life’s biggest financial challenges.

Prior to this, Lee headed the fund management business and led the research team as the Chief Investment Officer at Bristol-based Hargreaves Lansdown, where he worked for 28 years.

After completing his economics degree in Liverpool, Lee moved to Bristol in 1995.

In his business roles, he has been fortunate enough to hold a senior position in a company that transformed from a relatively small, founder-led business into a major FTSE 100-quoted financial services business. Alongside overseeing client investments and growing an asset management business, he is passionate about developing people to make the most of their talents.

Lee served for several years as the executive sponsor of a graduate scheme, during which time he mentored graduates with the aim of facilitating future business leaders. Two of these graduates now work alongside Lee at Moai Wealth.

Lee is a member of the Society’s Investment Committee, using his knowledge and skills in this area. He supports the Society in its work with younger people and aspiring business leaders.

Outside work, Lee is married to Helen and is a father to three daughters. For ‘relaxation’, he enjoys many sociable sports and activities — climbing, sailing, swimming, and racquet sports receive most of his attention.
