Merle has worked in innovation and product development consultancies predominantly within healthcare for over two decades and is now an Executive Chair in a Healthcare Communications business.

In her last executive role she ran multiple UK and US based businesses for a global private equity house, including the business she led following a PE backed management buyout in 2016. She has consulted across large Blue Chips, SMEs and university spin outs, creating life changing healthcare products and services, also founding a new business in 2018, XXEquals, focused on developing new healthcare products for women.

She is an advocate and mentor to various charitable organisations, focusing on key areas of women in leadership, inclusivity in STEM and accessibility in women's healthcare.

Merle moved to Bristol in 1994 to study History at the University of Bristol, followed by a Masters at Bristol Business School (UWE), and now lives close to the Downs with her husband Simon and two teenage children.
