Peter McIlwraith

Peter McIlwraith is a Chartered Accountant and spent his career with Price Waterhouse and
PricewaterhouseCoopers (now PwC). A native of Lancashire, he worked with the firm over a 35-year career in Manchester, Montreal, Hong Kong and Bristol. He had a number of roles during his time as a partner involving both management and client responsibilities, latterly being the senior partner in Bristol and Cardiff and, following the merger between PW and Coopers and Lybrand, he was one of six Regional Chairman; his responsibility being for the West and Wales.

Following his retirement from the firm he took on a number of non-executive roles of both a
commercial and charitable nature. Charitable appointments included acting as a Governor at Wells Cathedral School, Chairman of At Bristol Limited for nine years, where he remains a Life President, and trustee of BRACE and The Grateful Society, of which he was the President in 2002.

Commercial non-executive roles included board positions at Brandon Hire plc, Bristol Water plc and National Deposit Friendly Society Limited and advisory roles as Regional Chairman of Coutts & Co and with solicitors Bevan Ashford.
