Peter Rilett

Peter Rilett is chair of City of Bristol College whch provides education and vocational training for over 10,000 Bristol students. He continues to act as advisor to a number of local companies, always involved in financial and strategic decisions.

He joined KPMG on qualification and spent over 30 years developing and leading specialist teams with a focus on transport and property. First Group was an important client from the initial (Badgerline ! ) buy out through many acquisitions to full listing and onto overseas investment and train franchises.

Peter joined the board of North Bristol NHS Trust and became Chair from 2009 to 2017 during which period Southmead Hospital was built in the middle of the old ( and still operating ) hospital. The award winning new hospital was delivered on time and on budget.

As a Trustee of St Monica's Trust Peter was Chair of Finance & Development from 2009 to 2018 which included the £60m acquistion and development of Frys Chocolate factory. He was Chair of Governors at Bristol Grammar School and until recently a non executive director at BusinessWest.

Peter was Master of the Society in 2012 , is currently a member of the Audit committee, and is working to modernise the governance of the Bristol Downs whilst keeping within the terms of its originating 1861 Act of Parliament.

Peter and wife Sonia have recently moved to Wraxall, out in the country. He has a son James and currently two granddaughters.
