Rob Crews is a founding partner of Momentum Corporate Finance, an advisory firm which guides entrepreneurs on driving growth in their businesses, leading to management buyouts, acquisitions and sales. Since its inception in 2005 Momentum has become one of the leading independent advisory practices in the South West of England.

Helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses is Rob’s professional passion. Having originally trained as a Chartered Accountant in Bristol with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rob has now spent 25 years advising management teams and business owners across a wide range of industry sectors.

For the last ten years Rob has been a keen supporter of the King's Trust (previously the Prince's Trust). His core belief is that the most effective form of charity and support is through education, giving people of all ages and backgrounds the skills which they can use for the rest of their lifetime. He has previously served on the King's Trust SW Regional Council, the Philanthropy Committee and he has also spoken on the Enterprise Programme, which helps young people start their own businesses. More recently Rob has been involved in judging the King's Trust Awards covering England.

Rob also supports older people across the West of England through his involvement with the St Monica Trust, where he is a trustee. Operating five retirement communities across Bristol, the St Monica Trust is recognised as being a leading provider of retirement accommodation and care across a range of different settings.

Rob has lived in Bristol for over 30 years, since studying at Bristol University where he gained a BSc in Economics and Accounting.

He is married with two children, two dogs and two very strong-minded rescue cats. Outside of work and family his interests include golf, football and guitars.

Rob has been a keen supporter of the King’s Trust (previously the Prince’s Trust) for over ten years and his long-term support for a charity that helps young people aged 18-30 develop the skills and confidence they need to find a job or start a business is reflected in his professional work too. He’s a founding partner of Momentum Corporate Finance, an advisory firm that guides entrepreneurs on driving growth in their business, and it’s one of the leading independent practices in the region.

Since joining SMV, Rob is already involved in a number of SMV’s core activities. He’s one of the six SMV-nominated trustees of the St Monica Trust and he’s a member of SMV’s Membership Committee.

Rob says: “I joined SMV because the organisation’s mission and values align with my own and I believe that more can be achieved when determined individuals work as a team. When you bring together different people who want to improve diversity and inclusion, want to support charitable work, others who want to help entrepreneurs, or create better opportunities for the young and old – what they all have in common is a determination to deliver change. Get them all together, ask them to work really hard, and ambitious objectives become achievable.

“Across the various roles that I have as part of my membership of SMV, sometimes it feels like having a full-time job, and I already have one of those! But the driving force is being able to see the impact of what SMV can achieve when its members work together and, crucially, the impact that has on communities across the region.”
