Terence Mordaunt

Terence and his business partner Sir David Ord founded The Bristol Port Company in 1991, after purchasing Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Dock for £36 million. The Bristol Port Company has invested heavily since then and it is now a modern thriving port.

Terence was one of the founder donors of the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) and was previously a Director of the Global Warming Policy Forum. He became a Trustee in 2012 and he chaired the organisation during 2020 and 2021. GWPF is a science based educational and cross-party charity that aims to inspire debate about climate change.

Terence was Chairman of Pendennis Shipyard Holdings, an award winner builder and refitter of super yachts, from 2010 until his retirement from the Board in 2021.

Terence became a Trustee of the Outward Bound Trust in December 2015 until his retirement from the Board in October 2021.

Terence founded The Mordaunt Foundation in 2016, which provides grants to several regional, national and international organisations. He has previously donated over £3 million to charitable causes in the South West, including The Outward Bound Trust, Bristol Children’s Hospital, and Wells Cathedral School.
He holds an honorary degree in Law from the University of Bristol and is a Master Mariner and a Chartered Shipbroker .
