Collegiate Year 11s enjoy GCSE success

It was another exciting results day for Collegiate School, with Year 11 students celebrating excellent results in their GCSE examinations.

  • 52% of grades were 7 to 9 (equivalent to grade A and above)
  • 15% of grades were 9s
  • 20% of students achieved all grades 7 or above (equivalent to straight As)

One candidate achieved a clean sweep of grade 9s and will be remaining at Collegiate to study A-levels in Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

Head of Collegiate, Jeremy McCullough, said: “As well as achieving such excellent results, these brilliant young people have also excelled in sport, music, drama and in other areas too. It’s important not to measure the value of education solely by the grades achieved, but also by the soft-skills, character traits and personalities that young people develop during their education.

“As well as earning fantastic grades, this cohort of students have developed a great many other personal qualities, such as resilience and determination, that will stand them in good stead for the future. Well done to all of them, and to their teachers and parents who have supported them so well. We look forward to welcoming the majority of students back in September as they begin their Sixth Form journey with us, and we are excited to be joined by a strong cohort of candidates from other schools too.”
