Following the wonderful achievements of the Year 13 cohort last week, GCSE results day at Collegiate School was also a day of celebration for students, staff and families.
Head of Collegiate, Jeremy McCullough, said, “Many schools say they nurture the individual, and that there is more to life than examination results, but at Collegiate we really walk the walk, and don’t just talk the talk.”

He continued: “Our grounded Year 11s have achieved so much away from the classroom, including repeat National Finalists in rugby, individual international sporting honours, actors and musicians of the very highest calibre, to name but a few of their individual and collective achievements. All this, and still they have secured amazing academic results. We could not be more delighted.”
The headline results are as follows:
- 14% of grades were 9s, equivalent to an A**
- 49% of grades at 7 to 9, equivalent to A to A**
- 23% of students achieved all grades at 7 or above, equivalent to straight As
- One candidate achieved a clean sweep of grade 9s

Ted achieved a grade 9 in every subject.
Whilst the raw results are very strong, Collegiate is also celebrating the stories behind the grades, including tremendous personal endeavour and character from students who have faced significant challenges while studying for their GCSEs. Mr McCullough added: “These resilient young people have been well-taught, well-supported and they have absolutely done their best.”
Collegiate is now looking forward to welcoming the majority of students back in September as they begin their Sixth Form journey, alongside a strong cohort of candidates from other schools who have also achieved excellent exam results.
