William Allen is an experienced finance professional who has spent the last 29 years lending to (1995-2003) and advising (2003 - to date) UK and European Private Equity firms as they make investments across a broad spectrum of sectors and geographies.

In 2003, William founded the UK and Europe’s first independent advisory firm that provided debt advisory services to the Private Equity community, an advisory space that now has now become mainstream with many dozens of active firms. He is currently CEO of the specialist advisory firm Newbrook Capital Solutions LLP.

William serves as a Governor to four schools in the Bristol and Gloucester area, both within the Academy Trust (Gloucester Academy, Henley Bank High School and Holmleigh Park High School) and Private (Clifton College) Sectors.

William also serves as an Ambassador to a UK-based charity that provides children in East Africa who are vulnerable to isolation, exploitation and lack of opportunity with access to community-led education, child rights and economic empowerment programmes. In addition, after having spent some time serving in the 10th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, William is passionate about helping injured service personnel recover from often devastating physical and mental injuries. To this end he is actively involved with the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team charity (AFPST) that uses para-snow sports to foster a sense of purpose, encourage success and re-build self-confidence in wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

He graduated with a BA Honours degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1995.

William was born in Bristol and lives with his wife Catherine in Thornbury. Together they have two daughters, Grace and Honor, and two sons, Magnus and Francis, the youngest of whom, Francis, is at school in Bristol.
