Colston’s Sixth Formers rewarded with great results

Staff and students at Colston’s School are celebrating today after this year’s candidates delivered another set of impressive academic and vocational results. The headline statistics demonstrate the hard work and commitment of the A-level students with 42% of grades being awarded at A*/A, 73% of grades at A*/B and a 100% pass rate overall. 25% of A-level students achieved three A grades or better and 46% received ABB or better.

Colston’s is proud of the diverse range of subject and course options available in the Sixth Form, with a number of BTEC and CTEC courses being offered alongside A-level courses. The results for BTEC courses speak for themselves; with 68% of grades at Starred Distinction (D*) or Distinction (D), which is the equivalent in UCAS points of A*/A at A-level.

Success was also strong amongst the Extended Project Qualification candidates with 82% of EPQ grades awarded A*/B grades.

Headmaster, Mr. Jeremy McCullough, said; “We are always proud of our students, of the way they work hard and play hard and support each other, and today was no different. We are, however, delighted that their hard work has resulted in such good academic and vocational results and we are thrilled that so many have achieved their first choice university course, apprenticeship or employment. Above all else, we are proud to send such a positive cohort into the wider world and we look forward to hearing of the positive contributions they will go on to make in their communities.”
