Students, staff, parents and carers at Collegiate School are celebrating the outstanding achievements of the talented Year 11s.
In summary:
- 50% of grades at 7 to 9 (Equivalent of ‘old A grades’ and above)
- 14% of grades were 9s (A**)
- 17% of students achieved all grades 7 or above .
The school’s Head, Jeremy McCullough, said: “At Collegiate, we have always maintained that the success of a young person should not be measured by the grades they achieve following a series of examinations.
“We believe that the way they develop as an individual, the nature of their personality and the soft skills that they acquire along the way are what really dictate whether a school career has been successful or not.
“This cohort have developed into terrific young people; the fact that they have also achieved magnificent GCSE results is simply the icing on the cake.
“As well as producing such excellent results, these brilliant young people have also excelled in sport, music, drama and in other areas too. In addition, their holistic education will have helped them develop a great many other personal qualities, such as resilience and determination, that will stand them in good stead for the future.
“We look forward to welcoming the majority of students back in September as they begin their Sixth Form journey with us, and we are excited to be joined by a strong cohort of candidates from other schools.”
